In addition to a "no sound"
version of the CD-ROM Preview, we also provide 3 sound-enhanced options so you can listen
to the commentary linked to each slide in the Preview. We have included sound
presentations for: Windows Media Player from Microsoft, QuickTime from Apple, and Real
Player from Real Networks. Each Player is discussed below. Download links are available at
the bottom of this page.

This icon represents the Windows
Media Player. The sound files for this Player are in WAV format. Sound Recorder for
Windows also reads these files.
The quality of the WAV files on this site are lower than
those prepared for QuickTime or RealMedia. Media Player is
capable of higher quality but we have purposely kept the file sizes (and therefore
quality) as low as we dare to help speed up downloads of the files.
If you need to download the sound files to your hard disk
in order to hear them, right-click your mouse and select the "Save Target As"
option.
If you are using a PC with Win 3.x, Win95 or Win98 you should be able to hear
these files - one way way or another (i.e. streaming or downloaded to your hard drive), by
selecting the WAV file format. If you cannot, you may have set your system up incorrectly.
Windows Media Player streams its WAV files - i.e. the sound should begin playing
within a couple of seconds. |
