1. Beta - When wide awake-the conscious mind, operating at 13 to 25 cycles per second, the so-called beta state.

2. Alpha - The ideal learning state of "relaxed alertness," 8 to 12 CPS- alpha.

3. Theta - The early stages of sleep, 4 to 7 CPS-theta: the mind is processing the day's information.

4. Delta - Deep sleep, 0.5 to 3 CPS-delta.
